An exhibition examining the work of crime novelist Agatha Christie is to tour Surrey libraries.

Agatha Christie: World of Mystery opens in Redhill on Monday, and will move to Staines on 15 December and Guildford on 10 February 2027.

During the author's mysterious 11-day disappearance in 1926, her abandoned car was found at Newlands Corner in the Surrey Hills, while a search was carried out at the Silent Pool, a lake near Guildford, after a hoax message.

The exhibition, which is being staged in partnership with the British Library, examines Christie's writing process, iconic characters and influence on crime fiction.

The exhibition about the novelist will visit the libraries of Redhill, Staines and Guildford

Mark Nuti, Surrey County Council cabinet member for health and communities, said: "Agatha Christie's stories continue to capture imaginations around the world.

"Libraries are at the heart of promoting reading, learning and cultural experiences, and this exhibition is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through our partnership with the British Library.

The Redhill event will also feature a talk on 12 November by Christie expert Tina Hodgkinson on locations in London that influenced the novelist.
