An appeal had been issued after James Corlett went missing

Police say an 18-year-old man who was reported missing earlier this week has been found dead.

James Corlett, from Swadlincote in Derbyshire, did not return home following a night out in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, on Thursday.

A missing person inquiry was launched by Derbyshire Police and transferred to the neighbouring Leicestershire force on Saturday, which confirmed a body had been found in the town.

Leicestershire Police said the man's death was "currently being treated as unexplained and further inquiries continue to be carried out".

The force added his family was being supported by specialist officers.
