Kingussie secured a sixth consecutive Mowi Premiership title with a 3-0 victory over Kinlochshiel in their final game of the season at Rearaig.

With a goal difference advantage of nine and Newtonmore's programme complete, all Kingussie needed to overhaul their Badenoch rivals on goal difference was the win.

That came with goals from Iain Fraser on the half hour and Lee Bain just before half-time before Calum McLay followed up in the second half.

It completes a treble of the league, MacTavish Cup and Camanachd Cup, with Newtonmore runners-up on all three occasions.

Kingussie were only denied the clean sweep of shinty's four major honours by defeat at the hands of Oban Camanachd in the Macaulay final.

Col Glen's 2-0 loss to Skye at Clachan of Glendaruel confirmed the South Argyll club's Premiership relegation at the end of their first season in the top flight.

Dan MacDonald got the breakthrough for Skye late in the first half and followed up in the second.

However, the fate of Col Glen and indeed the entire sport remains unclear since shinty is undergoing a review of its league structure where clubs are currently considering three proposed structures involving scrapping the National Division and possibly the Premiership as well, and a greater reliance on regional leagues.
