Tyson was first to write in with news aboutAnand’s latest article, a briefing of sorts on thecurrentfate of the NV30. The article indicates that things are looking up for the embattled NV30, which to date has been the focus of much rumor-milling and stock plundering. Although many had been saying that the NV30 might not see the light of day until the first-half of 2003, it appears to be the case that NVIDIA will begin shipping in November. The core taped-out last week, which is good news (if not belated), but the fab is apparently having troubles, only producing a yield of 10-20%. Early adopters will likely pay a high premium, but it’s not clear how much more one might expect to spend compared to other initial top-o’-the-line launches.
