Heads up on this one, folks. Ahandful of flawsin Microsoft’s Office Web Components (OWC) can be exploited by that whacky "malicious user" guy who keeps popping up. All Office 2K and XP users should installthis patchimmediately. OWC allows users to manipulate Office data via Internet Explorer, even without the appropriate applications installed on a local machine. For example, you can view and muck around with an Excel spreadsheet hosted on the web without having Excel installed. Three vulnerabilities make it possible for HTML documents (web or e-mail) to read your clipboard, execute some code, and read hard drive data.
