Figure introduces new humanoid robot neural network

Figure has released Helix 2.5, a neural network it sent into 30 Bay Area homes with zero data collected in any of them, no fine tuning and no exposure to the objects it was asked to handle.

A humanoid walks into a house it has never seen, and makes the bed.

This is Figure’s Helix 2.5, dropped into 30 Bay Area homes with zero data collected in any of them. No fine tuning, no practice objects.

Toys into the basket, towels folded, beds made. It finished 56 percent of those attempts.

The same network, trained from scratch, without Figure’s human behaviour dataset behind it, managed 9 percent.

That dataset, called Index, takes in roughly 35 minutes of new human experience every second.

One model, half the task data, thirty strange homes. And it still fails almost half the time.
