Geely launches its first electrified off-road vehicle.Geely

Geely Auto Group has launched the Battleship 700 (Zhanjian 700) in China. The model is the carmaker’s first electrified off-road SUV and marks its entry into a new vehicle category.

It is also the firstproduction modelbuilt on Geely’s dedicated GTA platform for electrified all-terrain vehicles.

Geely said the SUV is designed to combineoff-road performancewith everyday road usability, removing the usual trade-off between rugged capability and passenger comfort.

“Pre-sales in China have already begun, with deliveries expected by the end of 2026,” said Geely in a press release. “The model is also planned for launch in markets outside China in the future.”

Integrated platform design lowers total vehicle weight

The GTA platform uses an integrated frame rather than a traditional body-on-frame design. According to Geely, this layout reduces vehicle weight, lowers the center of gravity, and increases cabin space.

Rigid chassis structure reduces internal cabin noise

The structure provides a rigid base for the suspension, which helps improve handling and reduces noise and vibration inside the cabin. Geely designed the platform to balance off-road durability with everyday road comfort.

Hybrid powertrain delivers a long driving range

The vehicle is powered by the EM-T hybrid system, producing up to 1,129 PS and 13,920 Nm of wheel torque. It has an estimated combined range of 1,700 km (1,056 miles) and works with an intelligent four-wheel-drive system to manage traction.

AI automatically adjusts dynamic driving settings

An on-board artificial intelligence system monitors terrain and adjusts vehicle settings automatically. Drivers can also select a climbing mode that handles power distribution and all-wheel drive on steep slopes.

Reinforced steel structures protect central passenger cell

For crash protection, the passenger cell is constructed from ultra-high-strength and hot-formed steel. It includes a 10.6-meter concealed rollover structure and has a certified roof-crush resistance of 161 kN.

Emergency features assist during severe water hazards

The SUV also includes emergency water features, such as a flotation mode and sensors that detect submerged obstacles. Geely said these systems are integrated directly into the chassis and battery electronics.

Model serves commuters and off-road drivers alike

Geely is targeting both off-road drivers and general buyers looking for a family vehicle. The Zhanjian 700 comes with standard driver assistance features and is intended for daily commuting as well as rural driving.
