The Netherlands is developing a 100kW laser with EOS to counter drone swarms, using directed energy to engage multiple drones without conventional missiles.

The Netherlands is working with Australian defense company EOS to develop a 100kW-class laser designed to counter drone swarms. Based on the Apollo High Energy Laser Weapon System, the system uses concentrated light to damage or destroy drones without firing conventional interceptors. EOS says it can engage up to 20–50 drones per minute, while the Dutch military explores turning the prototype into a deployable, potentially vehicle-mounted air-defense system.
