NASA is exploring a possible return of the SR-71 Blackbird, nearly 27 years after its final flight, potentially using the legendary aircraft for high-speed flight research.

NASA is reportedly exploring the possibility of returning an SR-71 Blackbird to flight nearly 27 years after its last mission. Former program personnel have reportedly been approached about restoring an aircraft that was previously operated by NASA and later stored at Edwards Air Force Base. With the Blackbird capable of extreme speed and altitude, the potential revival could support research into future high-speed, high-altitude aircraft technologies.
