One missile, multiple platforms: Mistral can be carried by soldiers, mounted on vehicles, flown by helicopters and deployed from warships, creating a versatile short-range air-defense family.

Mistral is more than a single short-range air-defense missile. The same Mistral 3 can be carried by infantry, mounted on vehicles, integrated onto helicopters, or installed in remotely operated naval turrets. Its imaging infrared seeker, fire-and-forget capability and high speed give the missile a common core that can be adapted across different platforms and missions. From a two-person MANPADS team to a warship’s close-in defense system, Mistral demonstrates how one missile can become an entire family of weapons — giving militaries a scalable way to defend forces against aircraft, helicopters, drones, missiles and other short-range threats.
