A single device with that much storage screams "danger" to me. I don’t know why, but the thought of a single, towering 200 GB drive without network backup evokes visions of catastrophic data loss. Technologies like "Data Lifegaurd" put me somewhat at ease, but if I should ever arrive at personal storage needs that require this much freakin’ space, I’ll go for a 3-5 driveRAIDstripe, or a mirror at least. Actually, we may have even more to say on this matter soon, as soon as our own Richard Berg finishes up his work on ATA RAID. Some helpfulfinish it, dangitencouragementmight edge him along :)
