Why Did Sweden Just Sent Canada Its Famous CB90 Combat Boats?

Sweden has loaned two CB90 combat boats to Canada for evaluation, giving Canadian crews a chance to test the fast Swedish craft for future coastal and littoral operations.

Sweden has loaned two Stridsbåt 90, or CB90, combat boats to Canada for evaluation. Canadian crews trained with Swedish amphibious forces in Gothenburg before the boats were shipped across the Atlantic. The trial will allow Canada to assess the fast assault craft against its own operational requirements before making any procurement decision. Built by Saab, the CB90 is designed for high-speed coastal and littoral operations.
