A former school could become a church and community hub.
Plans for the Hull Grammar School building on Cottingham Road includes a place of worship as well as offices, youth clubs, a children's room, and space for music classes and a food bank.
The religious group or denomination behind the proposals has not yet been named in public council documents.
Previous plans to convert the building into student housing were rejected.
According to theLocal Democracy Reporting Service, London-based planning consultants Studio Charette has confirmed in documents lodged with Hull City Council that no extensions or external alterations will be made to the building.
Planning application states: "The principal use will be religious worship, with the remaining accommodation supporting the wider pastoral, educational, charitable and community work undertaken from the premises."
The site was originally operated by Marist College before serving as Hull Grammar School until 2005, later hosting various commercial uses.
A public consultation on the plans is now open, with people having until 18 November to submit comments or lodge objections via Hull City Council's online planning portal.
