Sure vows better mobile coverage after complaints
29 minutes ago
Mobile network provider Sure has said it is tackling customer complaints about dropped calls, unreliable signals and mobile data issues in Jersey.
Some customers have experienced disruption and the mobile experience had "not been good enough" for some people on the island, said Sure.
Sure is investing £48m in its 5G upgrade across Guernsey and Jersey, with hopes to bring higher data speeds and better coverage to islanders.
Sure said it was replacing a network built up over time using technology from different suppliers and was also continuing work to bring together the former Airtel mobile network with its own.

The provider said it was moving its infrastructure onto a single Ericsson network, which it claimed would create a stronger foundation for improving coverage, capacity, speed and reliability.
According to Sure, a major part of the project has already taken place behind the scenes with work was now focused on upgrading equipment at individual mobile sites across Jersey.
The first upgraded site went live on 13 October and Sure said it was rolling out upgrades across the island with work expected to accelerate over the coming weeks.
The company said it was aiming to complete the programme in the first quarter of 2027, although it warned factors such as winter weather and reduced daylight hours could affect the timetable.
