After four Premier League games without a win, this defeat was always going to sting for Leeds.

But the fact that Farke's side were sent on their way to only their second defeat of the campaign because of a lapse in concentration from the usually reliable Trafford will make it all the more frustrating.

It could have been a different story had Calvert-Lewin's goal not been ruled out early in the first half, or Wilson's low effort not trickled wide with the game still goalless.

Before Trafford's costly mistake shortly after the half-hour mark it had been a tight contest, and one Leeds would have fancied themselves to win and end their wait for a first Premier League victory since September.

But after Trafford's error undid much of the visitors' impressive early work, there was only ever likely to be one winner on the south coast.

Although Leeds have struggled to turn draws into victories over the past month, Farke's side have taken immense pride in their defensive solidity. Only Arsenal had conceded fewer goals (five) than the Whites (six) heading into this weekend's fixtures.

After nine matches, Leeds remain in ninth place, but the pressure could soon mount on Farke if he is unable to halt his side's winless run.
