A new hotel concept called Otherwander Soho has launched in central London, aimed at modern city travelers.
The brand positions thehotelnot as a primary tourist destination, but as a practical base for guests who want direct access to the surroundingneighborhood.
“Otherwander Soho represents a distillation of what guests truly need – and should pay for,”saidFredrik Korallus, CEO of Otherwander Soho.
“We offer a seamless, fully digitised guest journey, considered design, a comfortable night’s sleep, and exceptional value in the epicenter of one of the world’s greatest cities.”
Contains hundreds of compact sleeping pods
The property contains 566 compact sleeping pods, referred to by the company as "nests." Guests can choose between single and double layouts, both planned to reduce the hotel stay to essential functions while prioritizing physical safety, basic comfort, and efficient use of space.
Offers soundproofing and temperature controls
Inside the pods, the design focuses on minimizing street disruption and regulating sleep conditions. Each unit is fitted with sound-softened walls, blackout windows, standard bedding, and individual controls for internal lighting and room temperature.
Integrated storage solutions help keep floor spaces clear
The nests also include built-in storage areas to hold luggage and personal items within the small footprint. These integrated compartments are arranged to keep floor space clear so guests can move around the unit without unnecessary obstruction.
Digital passes replace traditional hotel check-in desks
Check-in and room access are entirely digital, removing the need for a traditional reception desk. After booking and checking in online, guests receive a QR-enabled pass known as the Wanderpass, which sits in their mobile wallet and unlocks both the building and their pod.
Guests can use a private shared social lounge
Outside the sleeping quarters, the building houses a communal lounge reserved exclusively for paying guests. The space offers seating alongside fresh coffee, pastries, and basic snacks, as well as a self-service bar serving beer, wine, and cocktails throughout the day.
Bathrooms feature rain showers and vanity counters
Shared washrooms are situated near the accommodation zones and are equipped with rain showers and dedicated vanity counters. These communal facilities are designed to let travelers wash and prepare for the day without overcrowding the private sleeping units.
Brand reflects an emerging urban accommodation trend
The launch forms part of an emerging trend toward digital-first, pod-style urban lodging in central metropolitan districts. Otherwander Soho is now open for bookings.
