Former Everton and England defender Izzy Christiansen spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live after the Toffees' Carabao Cup victory overNewcastle:"Everton were absolutely fantastic. You could just tell as soon as the game kicked off there was a huge zip to the way that they played. They had that quality that shone through.
"We said at the start of the game that progression for both teams is so key for both of their fanbases. This is exactly what Everton fans needed - something to cling on to.
